Context
Commissioned by the Taiwan office of a Swiss haute horlogerie maison to localize English press materials for the Taiwan market, with reference to established regional terminology and brand language.
My role
English-to-Traditional Chinese translation, localization, terminology alignment, structural editing and final copy refinement.
Challenge
The source material needed to be adapted for Taiwan while preserving the maison’s established terminology, editorial tone and factual precision.
Approach
I reviewed previous regional materials, aligned specialist watchmaking terminology, refined the structure and subheadings for Taiwan readers, and flagged inconsistencies in the source text for client confirmation.
Deliverable / Outcome
Traditional Chinese press releases and bilingual comparison files prepared for client and headquarters review. Taiwan-ready copy that preserved brand consistency while improving local readability and identifying source-text issues before publication.
